Admissions

Admission to the University is open to all student applicants regardless of religion, race or gender. Every applicant is considered individually in a holistic assessment using all the information available to us.

The Office of Student Admissions caters to all inquiries and applications. Applicants must submit the required documents and pass the entrance examinations. In some cases, an interview with the Dean may be necessary.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Elementary School Admission Requirements

  • Birth Certificate – 1 original, 2 photocopies
  • 2 pcs. 1×1 ID picture
  • Original copy of Report Card from the last school attended signed by Principal
  • Interview

Testing fee – PhP 350.00

Time of Exam – 8:00am – 12:00nn

Test results will be given out after three days by the Guidance Office

Bring the following on exam day:

  • 2 pcs. Pencils (#2 with eraser)
  • 1 pc. whole sheet of paper
  • Exam Permit and Receipt
  • Snacks (examinees are not allowed to go out during break time)

Junior High School Admission Requirements

  • Original F-138 (Report Card) or photocopy of latest grades
  • Original and one clear photocopy of Birth Certificate
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation from either: the Principal, Adviser, or Guidance Counselor
  • 2 pcs. 1×1 ID picture
  • All transferees are required to go through interview prior to applying. Please come with parents/guardians on your interview schedule.

Testing fee – PhP 350.00

2. PWU Schools or Department – Bring your TOR or True Copy of Grades from your last school attended. Have them assessed by the dean or Program head.

– You may also bring the latest quarter grades if the complete copy of grades is not yet available for assessment. However, please do note that complete requirements needed upon enrollment.
3. CASHIER’S WINDOW
2nd floor, Nakpil wing
– Pay the application fee of PHP 350 for undergraduate students at the cashier.
4. ADMISSIONS OFFICE
Ground floor, Taft wing
– Go back to the Admissions Office to present your receipt and get your respective entrance exam schedules.
5. GUIDANCE/TESTING CENTER
Mezzanine, Malvar wing
– Present your receipt and routing form to the psychometrician on duty on the day of your entrance exam.

– Take your entrance exam on the schedule given to you. Results will be available after 1-2 weeks.
6. PWU Schools or Department/
ETEEAP Office
– If you already have your entrance exam results, you may proceed to your respective departments.

– Ask for an adviser’s slip, which will contain all the subjects you will enrol.

– If applicable, take the Art Test or the Music Audition.

– If you are eligible, go to the scholarship office and get a certificate of scholarship.
7. REGISTRAR’S OFFICE

– Submit credentials and the signed adviser’s slip at the Registrar’s Office.

– Get the class schedule and assessment of fees.
8. CASHIER’S WINDOW

– Pay your tuition fee

– Get the official receipt with student number, the assessment form stamped with ENROLLED serves as your certificate of enrolment (COE).

Foreign Student Admission

Application

  1. Documentary requirements
    Scanned copies of the following documents may be submitted via email for initial evaluation. The original and authenticated documents must be presented to the university upon enrollment:
    • Scholastic record (form 137 of Transcript of Records) duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Consular Officer located in the student’s country of origin or legal residence
    • Police Clearance Certificate issued by the National Police Authority in the student’s country of origin or legal residence – duly authenticated by Philippine Foreign Service Consular Officer located in the student’s country of origin or legal residence

      Alternatively, a Certificate of Good Moral Character from a reputable and verifiable source will be accepted (e.g. Employer, Government Official)
    • Applicant’s original birth certificate
    • ID pictures (2 copies 1.5" x 1.5")
    • Copy of current, valid passport showing photo, data, and stamp of latest arrival in the Philippines, and existing valid visa.
  2. English Proficiency Requirements
    A score of at least 500 (if paper-based) or 173 (if computer-based) or 61 (if internet-based) in the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) shall be required, or

    A score of at least 5 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) shall be required.

    If the applicant does not meet the requirements for English proficiency, one may be placed in the University’s Conditional English Program before the applicant is allowed to enrol in any program.
  3. After completing the documentary requirements, an applicant is issued an applicant number by PWU Admissions Office. Applicant will be interviewed by the Dean of the PWU program he/she is interested in. The interview can be conducted in person or via the internet.
  4. The applicant will be informed about acceptance by PWU and must then be in the Philippines to complete the admissions process

Cost of Attendance

  • Visa Application Fees: estimated at approximately USD250, to be paid in country of origin to the Philippine visa-issuing office.
  • Tuition and Application Fees:
    Rates vary depending on the study program. Please email admissions@pwu.edu.ph for a detailed breakdown of tuition and other fees.

Upon admission, the following payments will be made in addition to basic tuition and miscellaneous fees:

  • Acceptance fee: USD300
  • International students Fee: USD100 per trimester for the Bachelor Program; USD300 per trimester for Graduate Studies

International students who fail their subjects or violate any University or Philippine laws may be subject to dismissal and revocation of their student visas

• PHP 350 for Undergraduate Students, 2nd Coursers, CTP, Caregiving, and Phlebotomy applicants
