Beyond Ordinary Hospitality Management Education

Chef Reinald Andaya, PWU School of Hospitality Management alumnus and faculty member, bagged a Silver Award in the Wedding Cake Category of the 2018 Philippine Culinary Cup (PCC). The entry, a wedding cake inspired by the Yakan of Zamboanga, was named Helena in honor of the late Helena Z Benitez. It is the first entry in the history of PCC’s nine-year run to showcase indigenous Philippine culture.

The Philippine Culinary Cup is the only culinary competition in the country that is accredited by the World Association of Chef’s Societies (WACS). It was participated in by 15 top hotels and culinary institutions like Okada, Marriot Hotel, Conrad Hotel, Resorts World Manila, Hyatt City of Dream Manila, Unifood and Beverage Singapore, Sofitel Philippine Plaza, LPU Laguna and LPU Cavite.
