JASMS Student at SEA Games

Rhythmic Gymnastics was one of the 13 team events for women at the 29th SEA Games held on August 26-27, 2017 in Malaysia. Katrina Drilon Loretizo, a Grade 10 student of PWU-JASMS Manila was part of with the women’s rhythmic gymnastic team from the Philippines which scored a Bronze medal at the competition held in Kuala Lumpur. The team is composed of AJ Melgar, Jean Caluscusin, Katrina Loretizo, Marian Nicolle Medina and Shieldannah Sabio.

Their dramatic performance in all-black outfits had music and sound effects that referenced the Philippine eagle. The Philippine team’s third place finish for the single apparatus (hoops) event was a brave effort that veered away from the norm.

Philippine Women’s University president Dr. Francisco Benitez said that 16-year old Katrina’s performance brought pride not only to the University but to the country as well.
