The Philippine Women's University honors its top faculty members in celebration of World Teacher's Day (Oct. 4, 2011), 2:00 pm at the Conrado Benitez Hall, Taft campus, Manila, with former Senator and now PWU Board Chairperson Dr. Helena Z Benitez as special guest and speaker.
Based on students' evaluation, cited for the First Tri-mester, SY 2011-2012 are full-time Professors Joy Chi (School of Education), Adalbert Alcaide (School of Hospitality and Tourism Management), Barbara David (Quezon City campus), Richelle Rivera (School of Music) and Eva Puertollano (School of Arts and Sciences).
Similarly honored are part-time faculty members Anna Basman (Quezon City campus), Vicente Fario and Sam Occeno of School of Fine Arts and Design and Ludivina Mariano and Celerina Armamento, both of Quezon City campus.
To open World Teacher's Day as declared by the Department of Education and UNESCO is VP for Academic Affairs Dr. Vivien Talisayon, followed by musical numbers to be performed by JASMS Angklung and Music Education students who will serenade the honorees.
The awarding ceremonies will be led by Dr. Benitez, VP for Finance Alfredo Reyes and VP for Administration Ma. Luisa Mirasol. Dean Dr. Dina Catalina Dayon of the School of Education will give the closing remarks.
