Declaration of Mira-Nila as Heritage House
Executive Director Ludovico Badoy of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines presents to former Senator and now Board Chairperson of the Philippine Women's University, Dr. Helena Z Benitez, the plaque declaring Mira-Nila a heritage house in ceremonies held at the Benitez' ancestral home in Quezon City. Built 1929, the multitiered house was the "venue for political and social gatherings and was used as military post by the Japanese forces during World War II". Witnessing the turnover are (from left) Alfredo Reyes and Dr. Francisco Benitez, chief operating officer and president, respectively of PWU and Carminda Arevalo of NHCP.
