PWU-CDCEC Pampanga branch

Brief History

The Ocampo sisters, together with some business associates, saw a need for a school that was affordable, skills-based, and focused on the competency based curriculum. They decided that the best way to help their fellow Capampangans was to open a school with a prestigious name and reputation in Pampanga. Thus, Philippine Women's University - Career Development and Continuing Education Center Pampanga (PWU-CDCEC Pampanga), franchisee of PWU Taft, opened in a 4-storey building along Sto. Entierro St., Sto. Cristo, Angeles City in June 2007.

PWU-CDCEC Pampanga received its first TESDA registration for three initial course offerings:

  1. Healthcare Services NC II (Nursing Aide)
  2. Caregiving NC II
  3. Household Services NC II

After a year, the passion for food and desire to bring the world of Culinary Arts to the discriminating taste of the Capampangans gave birth to Culinary Arts (Commercial Cooking NC II and Baking & Pastry Production NC II) . Offered at very reasonable rates while still providing quality training comparative to culinary schools in Manila, PWU-CDCEC Pampanga has in a span of two years, gained a reputation as one of the first and best culinary schools in Pampanga.

The school officially held its inauguration on September 12, 2008. The day started with a motorcade and ended with a sumptuous cocktail reception prepared by its first batch of Commercial Cooking NCII students.

By July 2009 , being first to foresee a greater demand for Bartenders and Baristas locally and abroad, two additional courses in the Hotel & Restaurant Services sector were registered with TESDA:

  1. Bartending NC II
  2. Barista NC III

PWU-CDCEC Pampanga will be introducing additional Hotel and Restaurant Services courses in 2010 to cater the growing demand for:

  1. Food and Beverages NC II
  2. Housekeeping NC II
  3. Front Office NC II
