Qualifications

Dr. Amelou B. Reyes academic achievements include a double cum laude at the Philippine Women’s University – Bachelor of Arts, major in Psychology, and Bachelor of Science, major in guidance and counseling.  She completed her Master of Arts in Psychology at the Ateneo de Manila University.  She garnered another masteral degree in Sociology and a doctoral degree in Development Education from Stanford University major in Political Sociology

On May 10, the 2nd Global Forum was held in Conference Room A at the UN Headquarters.  The organizational forum was held in April 2004 as a side event of CSD 12.  This year's forum focused on 'Rights-based Approach in Mainstreaming Gender in Local Decision-making on Energy, Industrial Development, Air Pollution and Climate Change"

As well as carrying on the legacy of PWU Chairperson Helena Z Benitez,  this forum aims to substantially contribute to engendering sustainable development in global and local policy-making.

The PWU initiatives in the field of environment and habitat were shared, namely, IEMEH course offerings (BS Environmental Management); the HZB Lecture Series on Urban Environment Management that the PWU-co-organized with the Cultural Affairs Office of the U.S. Embassy-Manila on March 28-30, 2006; and EnviroLearn Philippines, a learning network for organizations/groups. individuals concerned with the environment and sustainable development.
