Qualifications


Dr. Amelou B. Reyes academic achievements include a double cum laude at the Philippine Women’s University – Bachelor of Arts, major in Psychology, and Bachelor of Science, major in guidance and counseling. She completed her Master of Arts in Psychology at the Ateneo de Manila University. She garnered another masteral degree in Sociology and a doctoral degree in Development Education from Stanford University major in Political Sociology

As newly elected of the Executive Board of the IAUP, Dr. Reyes attended the Executive Committee Meeting together with AVP for Academic Affairs Dr. Dina Dayon.

Among the topics discussed were: Sharing Quality Higher Education Across Boarders; Quality Assurance and accreditation; UN-IAUP on Disarmament, Conflict Resolutions; Special Seminar Topics: Building of Knowledge in Europe; University-Industry Collaborations.

In line with Dr. Reyes's continuing advocacy for gender mainstreaming and empowerment through women's education, she presented her proposal to establish a Sub-committee for Women's Education to the Executive Committee. This was unanimously approved in principle by the Executive Committee.
