Dr. Ligaya T. Braganza and Levina Divinagracia M. Tanada
ABSTRACT
This study examined some potential factors which could be used to predict
the academic performance of third year Bachelor of Science in Food Technology
students selected professional courses, namely: Food Processing, Food Analysis
and Food Chemistry. The factors included in the study were departmental
examination results, practicum ratings/grades and final grades in the courses
Food Processing, Food Analysis and Food Chemistry.
Final grades and practicum ratings are predictors of the students academic
performance. However, practicum ratings was a better predictor while departmental
examinations scores was a poor indicator of the third year BSFT students academic
performance in the selected professional courses.
