Compendium of Theses and Dissertations (October 2003)

FOREWORD

This compendium on Abstracts of Thesis and Dissertations 1996-2002 is a companion volume to the Compendium of Researches 1996-2002 at The Philippine Women’s University and its Affiliate Schools for Men and Women published June 2003. It contains some 144 abstracts of theses and some 59 abstracts of dissertations by administrators, faculty members, and students.

In general, these abstracts provides information on the Rationale of the study, the statement of the Problem under study, the Objectives of the study, the Research design, the Methodology, Findings and Recommendations. Those interested to have further information in specific studies may coordinate with the PWU Research and Development Division.

Research has always been a vital component built into the system of how we do, what we are doing in trying to achieve our goals as an educational institution anchored on a Faith Community. In this manner, we are engaged in a dynamic empirical evaluative stance which enables us to shift gears when necessary.

The creation of a vibrant Research climate at PWU is one of my major thrusts as University President. It is my hope that this Compendium further generate interests towards scientific inquiries so vital in enhancing the body of knowledge in different fields of endeavor.

I shall greatly welcome with appreciation the comments and suggestions of everyone.
