What is ETEEAP?
ETEEAP (Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program) provides an access to earn a college degree through equivalency and accreditation of prior learning of applicants from work experiences-formal and informal training, for the course Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management.

How Is The Equivalency Being Done?
The applicant submits documents as evidences to show that he/she is employed or has been working full time in any hospitality or related industry for at least 5 years.

He/She undergoes the following processes:
  • Takes the written exams
  • Takes the oral exams
  • Submits certificate of evidences
  • Submit video tapes of evidences
  • Takes hands-on lab demonstration
  • Prepares portfolio for learning
  • Enrolls in some short-term courses if found satisfactory in some areas of learning

Generally, the following are the procedures that an applicant goes through:
  • Initial assessment and guidance
    • Minimum age requirement, certification of employment for at least 5 years, guidance and interview.
  • Assessment Proper
    • Applicant undergoes evaluation by taking oral, written exams, and hands-on demonstration to assess competency levels for all competencies based on the program curriculum. A panel of internal and external assessor will evaluate applicant’s competencies.

THE UNIVERSITY COMPETENCY ENHANCEMENT SERVICES
To help the applicant improve his or her competencies, he/she may attend more training work exposure, attend workshops, enroll in some subjects or short-term courses using the different modes of learning delivery systems of independent study through the use of modules and on-line learning/e-learning.

AREAS OF COMPETENCIES
  • General Education: English, Filipino, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Philosophy and Humanities, Mathematics and computer
  • Values Education core: Religious, Moral Civic, Education, Social Concerns.
  • Business Education Core: Management, Entrepreneurship, Basic Accounting, Feasibility Study
  • Professional Core: Food and Beverage Service, Front office Operation, Housekeeping, Bar and Mixology, Stewarding, Baking, Culinary Arts, Tours and Travels, Hospitality Laws, international Cuisine, HR Facilities & Design/Lay-out, 2 Foreign Languages and Research

REQUIREMENTS
  • 23 years old and above
  • Employed in any hospitality industry or related industry for at least 5 years.
  • Highly motivated worker without a college degree in BSHRM and willing to undergo assessment of previous experiences:
    • WORK EXPERIENCE – local or abroad
    • SEMINARS/TRAININGS/WORKSHOPS, CONFERENCES
    • INVOLVED AS TRAINOR, SPEAKER, DEMO
    • FORMAL TRAINING IN SCHOOL – unfinished 4-year degree course, graduate of a vocational technical course
